Terms of Service

Last updated 2026

These Terms govern your access to and use of Scanburst (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.

1. The Service

Scanburst lets you generate QR codes and, on a paid plan, create dynamic codes: a QR that points at a short link we host, so you can change its destination without printing a new code, and see aggregate scan statistics. Static codes you download are yours to keep and use freely.

2. Your account

You are responsible for your credentials and for all activity under your account, must provide accurate information, and must be at least 18. One person or organization per account, unless you are on a plan that includes team seats.

3. Your codes and their destinations

You are responsible for where your codes point and for the content shown there. You may not point a code at anything unlawful, deceptive, malicious (malware, phishing), or infringing, or use a code to impersonate someone. We may disable a code or account that breaches this, and codes pointed at such content are used at your own risk.

4. Acceptable use

No scraping, reverse engineering, bypassing plan limits or security, automated abuse of the redirect, or unlawful use. We may suspend accounts that do these.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans bill in advance via our payment provider, monthly or annually. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the paid period. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

6. What happens if you cancel

Dynamic codes are a hosted service. If your paid plan ends, your dynamic codes stop resolving and anyone scanning them will not reach your destination. Your account data and code settings are retained for a grace period so you can resubscribe and restore them, but a printed dynamic code will not work while you are unsubscribed. Static codes you already downloaded are unaffected and keep working forever. Please plan reprints and campaigns with this in mind.

7. Availability

We work to keep the redirect fast and available, but the Service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis, without a guaranteed uptime unless agreed separately in writing. We may perform maintenance and will avoid disrupting the redirect where we reasonably can.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the prior twelve months. We are not liable for the content of destinations you choose, or for losses from a code that stopped resolving because a subscription lapsed.
